Press Release Regarding the Latest Developments in Ukraine

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 15.04.2014

No: 120, 15 April 2014

We are observing with deep concern the recent incidents in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine. In this delicate period that we are going through, we would like to emphasize once again the importance of expression of opinions regarding the political future of Ukraine through democratic channels, to preserve the territorial unity and integrity of Ukraine and to avoid unlawful acts and deeds.

From the beginning, Turkey has been recommending that all segments of society should express their views and demands through peaceful means and should act with common sense. We wish that the Ukrainian authorities will maintain their restraint that they have adopted so far to control the incidents and establish public order.

We reiterate once again our support to our neighbor and friend Ukraine for conducting the May 25th presidential election in peace and tranquility and in a fair and free environment.
