Documentary Screening---“The Story of 1915 in Armenian Documents”

Rice University Turkish Student Association (RTSA) and Turkish Heritage Anti-Defamation Society in Houston (TurkishHADS) proudly present “The Story of 1915 in Armenian Documents”, a documentary written and directed by Serkan Koc, based on historical documents and archives as well as interviews with renowned historians on Thursday, April 14th at Houston Rice University Herzstein Amphitheater, 6.30 pm.

Following the screening there will be a panel session featuring the writer and director of the documentary Serkan Koc and Dr. Mehmet Perincek.

The event is in English, free and open to public.

“The Story of 1915 in Armenian Documents” is a documentary which reveals the history of 1915, when the Ottoman Empire was struggling for its very existence. 1915 documents the inhumanity of war and suffering, armed rebellion and the demise of an empire during World War I. Serkan Koc, who directed the documentary, says 1915 is a factual recounting of events by witness testimony. It is a product of extensive archival research that sheds light on a dark and controversial period in world history. Featured testimonies are from Bernard Lewis, Edward Erickson, Guenter Lewy, Heath Lowry, Norman Stone, Jeremy Salt, Justin McCarthy, Pat Walsh, Maxime Gauin and many more eminent historians.
